King's Volunteering are recruiting students to become King's Volunteering Ambassadors to help amplify our initiatives and events, expanding the reach and impact of the service across the university, with a particular focus on student engagement.

- Location – Shifts will be available in various locations across all King’s campuses and at community partner premises across London
- Time commitment - November 2024 to May 2025 with flexible hours - between 4 and 12 hours per month during term time
- Reports to – Anna Joynson, Volunteering Engagement Officer
- Rate of pay - £14.22/hour
- Interview dates - You must be available to attend an interview on 14/10/24 or 15/10/24
- Training dates - You must be available to attend an in-person training session on 23/10/24 2-4pm in Melbourne House on Strand Campus
Role Overview
As a King’s Volunteering Ambassador, you will be joining the King’s Volunteering team, playing a vital role in expanding the reach and impact of the service across the university, with a particular focus on student engagement.
Now in its 3rd year, King’s Volunteering are exploring ways to further our engagement across the university, with the aim of connecting staff and students with our wider community through volunteering.
As an ambassador, you will support our business-as-usual activity, whether that’s being a friendly face at our annual volunteer fair or creating engaging content to inspire our community to volunteer. You'll also be encouraged and supported to explore new opportunities that will help the team achieve our goals of making volunteering more accessible for the King's community.

Key Responsibilities
Event Representation and Delivery:
- Assist with the planning and delivery of engagement events, including volunteering fairs, informational talks, and micro-volunteering workshops.
- Act as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic representative of King’s Volunteering, answering questions and encouraging student participation.
- Collaborate with the King’s Volunteering team to co-design and lead events that raise the visibility of King’s Volunteering within the student community.
Network Building and Outreach:
- Support the expansion of King’s Volunteering’s network by building connections across different faculties, departments, societies and student groups.
- Actively promote volunteering opportunities and initiatives within your own networks and communities at King’s.
Content Creation and Communication:
- Assist in the creation of engaging content for King’s Volunteering’s communication channels, including social media posts, newsletters, and news articles.
- Contribute ideas for new content that aligns with the interests and needs of the student community.
Student Insight and Feedback:
- Provide insights into the student experience at King’s, to improve user experience of the volunteering service.
- Contribute to quarterly engagement and communications review meetings.
- Be proactive in providing feedback on engagement events, with the aim of improving engagement and user experience.

Person Specification
Essential:
- A current student at King's College London. Graduation date must be after 31st May 2025 (assessed in application)
- An understanding and interest in the King’s Volunteering service (assessed in application, task and interview)
- Passionate about volunteering and community engagement (assessed in application and interview)
- Confident communicator, comfortable with interacting and engaging with diverse audiences at in person events (assessed in application and interview)
- Comfortable using various communication methods, and able to adapt their style to engage different audiences with the service (assessed in application, task and interview)
- Strong organisation and time-management skills (assessed in application and interview)
- Ability to proactively contribute to discussions around development of the King’s Volunteering service (assessed in application and interview)
Desirable:
- Previous experience of creating content for digital channels such as social media (Instagram, X and LinkedIn) and online news articles (assessed in application)
- Previous event delivery and/or event support experience (assessed in application)
