Welcome Area Volunteer

• Supporting our reception team to create a warm and welcoming environment for our clients & assist in the smooth running of this area

What You'll Do: 

We work in East London, once of the most deprived areas of the UK. We support people in times of crisis, providing a safe space, food, warmth and access to advice & support.

 

The Welcome area is our clients first point of contact for our service users, you would be part of a team of volunteers that welcome people who are struggling with homelessness, are vulnerably housed or require support in addressing their substance misuse issues. 

 

  • Help to keep the reception area clean & organised
  • Assist in greeting all visitors to the centre & record client details & interactions
  • Ensure visitors sign in & out correctly & the appropriate staff member is aware of their arrival (where necessary).
  • Hand out shower supplies, socks etc. stock up from the storeroom when needed (inform management when running low)
  • Charge client’s phone making sure client has put phone on silent or switched off, that it is charging correctly and it is labelled  
  • Assist clients in using the phone, contacting key worker
