Kitchen Volunteer (Only at our Poplar Depot)

Join us to give a new life to surplus food.

What You'll Do: 

This role is based in Felix's Kitchen at our East London site. There are two main activities - Food Prep and Meal Packing. Food Prep involves chopping, peeling and the overall preparation of ingredients using surplus food. You may also assists our wonderful chefs in the cooking of our meals. Meal Packing is where you will help assemble our meals into boxes, which then go out to vulnerable people across London. We usually pack and distribute around 4000 meals a day.

Some of the perks of volunteering here in the Kitchen at our Poplar Depot, with this role is a free cooked lunch every day all made from surplus food, aswell as free drinks and snacks throughout the day. You will also need to complete a Food Safety course beforehand and will gain a certificate for it.

We have an online induction (Info session) where you will learn about what we do at the Felix Project and our story etc. You will also have Food Safety & Hygiene training, aswell as future training opportunities as part of our Learning Management System.
