Dementia Wellbeing East London needs volunteers to offer Practical, social and emotional support to people living in their homes in Newham, City & Hackney and Tower Hamlets affected by advanced dementia.
- Some of the types of activities you could offer to our patients include: Creating a memory box, Listening to their favourite songs & pleasantly stimulating sounds. Using favourite and seasonal fragrances.
- You could be offering a relaxing hand massage or support a patient with brushing their hair. Also helping to maintain hydration. You could also offer relaxing hand massages. Hair -brushing and face -washing and maintaining of hydration.
- Benefits to the role will include full training on all areas of Dementia support such as providing hand massage to patients.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A couple of hours per week available
- An interest in supporting people in your community who are living with dementia
- The time to commit to a minimum of six months active volunteering with Dementia Wellbeing East London
- Clear and sensitive communication skills
- The ability to work independently
- Patience, empathy and a non-judgemental approach
- Reliability, dependability and enthusiasm
- The ability to speak another language (Please note, desirable but not essential)
