What the role entails:
As an object handling volunteer supporting the Visitor Experience team you’ll need to:
• Provide a warm and welcoming presence in our public spaces
• Supporting visitors to discover the museum through handling real museum objects
• Interact with broad audiences
• Allow visitors to explore the history of the objects and the context in which they would have been used
• Learn about the themes of the objects being used
• Work with and supporting other volunteers
• Set up the trolley
• Take care and responsibility for the handling collection and the trolley

What training we offer:
• Induction

Who we are looking for:
• Someone with good communication skills (foreign language skills may also be useful to us)
• Good customer service skills
• Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable
• Ability to interact with visitors of different ages and backgrounds, sometimes in a busy environment
• An interest in the museum’s themes
• Self-motivated and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work as part of a team
