Bloomsbury Festival
Each year we select a theme to inspire the various events and exhibitions programmed for our October festival. At the core of all our events we wish to bring together the communities and institutions of the Bloomsbury area. Sharing knowledge about the history, people and current population while exploring the literature, science, art, theatre and general spaces that exist within a small quarter of London.
ABOUT US:

Established in 2006, Bloomsbury Festival is an annual celebration of the area’s creativity, presenting an inspiring programme of culture, arts, science, literature, performance, discussion and debate. The programme includes an exciting mix of contemporary arts, music, performance, theatre, science displays, talks, walks and community events.

For ten days each October, the streets, parks, museums, galleries, laboratories and public and private buildings of this vibrant cultural quarter play host up to 130 events which attract a significant audience from across London and beyond. With a blend of academic institutions, businesses, cultural organisations and diverse communities, Bloomsbury has been a catalyst for ideas that have had impact across the world for hundreds of years.

Bloomsbury Festival celebrates contemporary Bloomsbury; a hotbed of creativity and pioneering development which has one of the youngest and most diverse populations in the country.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

More than simply a showcase for the area, Bloomsbury Festival acts as a catalyst bringing together artists and academics, scientists and dancers, musicians, publishers and school pupils to make new projects and to inspire and learn from each other.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:

To be part of Bloomsbury Festival we look for people who have patience, a welcoming nature and eager to help the variety of audiences we receive each year. An interest in festivals, arts and culture is appreciated but not required when working or volunteer with Bloomsbury Festival.
