Two Temple Place is a dazzling neo-Gothic mansion and hidden gem on Victoria Embankment in Westminster. We deliver a year- round programme of arts and cultural events, including a spring exhibition programme.
Working closely with two curating partners, the spring 2023 season will present contemporary work by under-represented artists in Two Temple Place’s magnificent Grade II listed building:
Inside: a Two Temple Place & Thorp Stavri Exhibition
28 January – 26 February 2023
State-less: a Two Temple Place & Kakilang Exhibition
11 March – 9 April 2023
Two Temple Place itself is an extraordinary architectural gem. As a unique venue in central London, exhibitions are intended to raise awareness of both the specific works on display and our partner museums, galleries and organisations around the country. The spaces have been fully adapted to accommodate exhibitions, with top grade lighting and hanging systems, security and environmental controls, and conform fully to the terms of the Government Indemnity Scheme. For the curator, devising a show for the ornate and intricately decorated space is a huge challenge that calls for imagination and ingenuity. Successful exhibitions bring together works in ways that respond to and complement the building’s unique décor, often to stunning effect.
Throughout the year we work with different groups from around London to animate, energise and open up our wonderful building to a wide range of people. We work in partnership with groups to offer a variety of free, professionally-led tours and arts and crafts workshops. We also work in collaboration with community groups on projects inspired by Two Temple Place, its history, architecture, and our exhibition programme. We offer free schools workshops alongside our exhibitions for state-funded London schools. We also host regular free Family Open Days, workshops and events which are accessible and open to everyone.
